I began my prayer time reading some of the Old Testament minor prophets where they spoke of how the Lord watched over Israel and would restore them. Afterwards, I said to the Lord, "Lord, You watched over the house of Israel and still do. But what is to become of my country and its people who have turned from You?" The Lord responded:

I am destroying your nation by storms and floods, by draught and fire. Yet you have not turned to Me, but only sin the more in your pride. I have sent pestilence upon the world, but see, no one turns to Me. What must I do to get your attention? To what lengths must I go? Must I bring the sword? When will My children see that they have sinned by abandoning Me and turn back to Me to save them? I tell you that only a few shall be saved. The rest will suffer My judgment. Those who cling to Me in faith, who do not yield to sin, will be saved and brought into the light. The rest shall die in eternal darkness. It is by their own choice that they die. My grace is ready, near at hand, waiting for someone willing to receive it. There will be a time of grace yet, when all who do turn to Me will be raised up and made holy. These will be my lights in the darkness who will draw all those who can see to Me. Already you have seen some of these lights. New lights will rise and come forth, for I am faithful, and I do not abandon My people whom I have created to be My children. But there are few who see, and of these, fewer still with the courage to shine for Me. In the end, I will be the light that shines in the darkness, and all who live in the light will come to Me. Those who choose darkness will be brought to judgment, and I will reign forever with My children who sought Me and My light. I alone am the light and life. I have paid the price to redeem all, and all who come to Me will reign with Me.

I repeat my word to you. Destruction is coming upon your nation unless it turns back to Me. I will receive all who turn to Me in My mercy. But justice requires consequences to come when sin has dominated a nation. The blood of My Son is holding back My hand, but My people must stand up and give witness to Me to bring about repentance. If My own children will not cry out My word, then there will be no holding back the punishment justice requires.

Hear Me now. The days are coming when this nation will bear the consequences of its sin. During that time My children will be as lights in the darkness. They alone will have the truth. They will have answer, and many will be given the opportunity to choose life. But only a few will answer the call to life because of the hardness of their hearts. My grace will be ready at hand to save and set free, but few will come to the waters of life. This time will come on your children and your children's children. So, you must pray for them. You must encourage them. You and your generation must give good example to them. That which you are building will remain because of your prayers. I tell you theses things to encourage you to persevere in prayer, and to pray more than what you do now.
